Map Overview

The Map page in the Warehouse Management module is designed to visually and logically represent the spatial relationship between different warehouse elements - Zones, Locations, and Points. It provides a foundational mapping system for warehouse layout planning, task assignment, and path optimization within WCS (Warehouse Control System).

Core Mapping Logic

Zone

A zone is a logical grouping that represents a broader area within the warehouse, such as a receiving zone, picking zone, or storage zone. It serves as a container for organizing and managing related locations and points.

Location

A Location is a specific, addressable spot within a zone (e.g., a bin, shelf, or pallet slot). It is the operational unit used for inventory transactions and task execution.

Point (Station)

A Point represents a physical coordinate or node in the warehouse layout, often used by robotic systems or AGVs for navigation and path planning.

Mapping Relationships

1. A zone can contain multiple locations.

2. Multiple Locations can be associated with a single Station, especially when they are serviced by the same physical or robotic access node.

3. A zone can also be linked to one or more Stations, which serve as entry/exit points, task execution nodes, or routing hubs for that zone.

This hierarchical and flexible mapping allows the system to:

1. Visually simulate the warehouse layout.

2. Associate operational logic with physical zones and locations.

3. Enable real-time task routing and optimization by aligning system tasks with physical geography.
